Trouble on the Horizon

Today’s card was the Fox — sly, sharp, and a warning sign that trouble might be sneaking up. Honestly, it tracks. We’ve had some strange things happening at the end of the driveway, and the energy feels… off.
The morning started out in our usual rhythm. I worked through some math lessons with the girls and tidied up while Dameion focused on the camper and Charlie kept patching up the problem areas in the house. By the time nap time rolled around, we had made real progress.
I shut the computer down and Franklin moved the desk so we could check the wall for any holes that needed patching. That’s when we discovered two things:
the gutters need to be checked ASAP, and
the surge protector had practically melted. At least it did its job, but still — not what I wanted to see.

While the desk was out, Charlie finally took a moment to fix the curtain rod behind it. Ali and Lu half tore it down when they were puppies, and because that desk is massive, we just… never moved it to repair it. Today we finally got it done.
Once everything was put back together — new surge protector, curtain rod fixed, desk back in place — the day evened out again. The girls and I finished more math after nap, and before long it was dinner time. They’re a bit confused with how torn up the house looks from the repairs and deep cleaning, but we’re getting there.
After bedtime, though, my spine decided it had had enough. A sharp pain hit, and I could barely move. So I had to call it an early night. Fingers crossed tomorrow is kinder.
