I drew the hourglass today, and I’m well aware that our deadline is ticking. The morning moved slow. Aria had a full-on fit and just wasn’t having a good day. She ended up jumping on me and trying to force me to change the TV to what she wanted over Sephy’s show. I had to walk away before losing my cool, and Charlie woke up to step in.

Once the girls had breakfast and were dressed, Dameion got home to walk the dogs while Charlie and I took the girls down to Mom’s—again. We came back to finish getting ready. I dressed as nicely as I could, hoping they’d take me seriously this time since my last visit with this clinic didn’t go so well.

Soon we were on the road to Chattanooga for my appointment. This time they listened. They actually took me seriously and scheduled me to come back in six weeks to check my progress.

By the time we got home it was almost four. Orkin came out to refill the rodent buckets and add one down by Mom and Dad’s side of the property. To get rid of the rats, we have to hit both sides hard. While the tech was here, I took a moment to give Adonis and the others some treats and work on bonding with them again.

Once that was done, Charlie brought the girls back up from Mom’s and I got dinner started. Dameion and Charlie went to cut down grass for the livestock since we still haven’t been able to restock our hay. Franklin took over the dog walk. Not long after, Jess and Keith arrived to look at the Jeep and clean the injectors.

Soon the girls were off to bed, and I went right back into cleaning the house. I got a good section of the kitchen done before we called it a night. There’s a lot to do tomorrow, and we need the early start.
