Once again I found myself awake at 2 a.m., moving straight into cleaning before the rest of the house stirred. Today’s tarot card was Bats—a symbol of adaptation, intuition, and nurturing feminine energy. It reminded me that family dynamics are always shifting, and that there’s wisdom in learning to see through what doesn’t serve us.

By 5 a.m. the dehydrator racks were emptied, and by 5:30, I was back in bed, catching another hour of rest until Aria’s call at 6:30 pulled me up again. From there, I set to work prepping the girls’ school lessons for the day, including a fresh new banner for the girls' wall.

Breakfast passed quickly, and once the girls had eaten and tidied their room, we settled into learning. Our India studies took center stage: flashcards, three-part cards, and a closer look at the clouded leopard. We learned where they fall on the IUCN list, then the girls each drew their own leopard before finishing with coloring sheets. By lunchtime, their creativity had poured across the table.

During nap, Charlie got to work drilling holes into the seashells I had picked up earlier in the week for their next project. When the girls woke, we strung necklaces together and even crafted a windcatcher for their room. Unfortunately, it didn’t last long—within two hours, they were swatting at it with stuffed animals, and down it came.

The day wrapped up with quiet progress. Dameion worked on the chicken and duck pond, while the girls proudly completed their India packets and most of their seashell activities. Looking back, I can see how the Bat’s energy threaded through it all—reminding me to adapt when things didn’t go as planned, to nurture the girls’ learning, and to lean into my intuition as we move through the ever-changing rhythm of family life.
