A Semi-Off Day with Quiet Progress

Today felt like a semi-off day, one of those in-between rhythms where not much happens, but the little things still count. I woke up early and drew my card of the day—the Teapot. It made me smile, because yes, I do have some hot gossip tucked away, but the time for spilling it hasn’t come just yet.

From there, I moved through my new routine almost seamlessly. Dameion kindly handled the animal chores for me, leaving me just the turtle to feed and the sourdough starter to tend to. Once the girls were awake and their room was tidied, we settled into school. I introduced them to a new little ritual—pulling a daily tarot card from their own deck. We spent a while talking through the meanings, which they loved, and then watched a short video about leafroller caterpillars before working on picnic flashcards.

Most of the day was devoted to their picnic packet final projects. They managed to finish their little picnic baskets and even painted the bodies of their ants. It was sweet to see their excitement as the pieces came together. During nap time, things stayed calm, and toward the end of it a neighbor stopped by with someone to take the pigs off our hands.

The day moved along quietly and uneventfully—sometimes, that kind of peace is just what’s needed.
